IMS are a steel stockholder, based in Essex, and are part of the Barclay & Mathieson Group, who have 15 Depots and 2 service centres nationwide. The group has over 500 employees and a turnover of almost £200 million. We traditionally sell general steels into the construction industry, and run a variety of processing machines in Shoeburyness. IMS alone employ over 150 staff at our facility and operate 24 hours per day.

We operate shotblast and painting, saw cutting, drilling, plasma Cutting, gas cutting, folding and shearing in house.

Production Team Leader

Established in 1975 Industrial Metal Services have been competitively serving the steel industry for nearly 50 years. We offer a wide range of products for the construction and engineering industries. Our growing range of steel processing services includes cut to length, drilling, shot blasting and profiling, ensuring we can meet a varied range of customer specifications. Forming part of the Barclay and Mathieson Group, (B&M) we are one of the largest steel stockholders and processors in the UK, with just over 450 employees.   • Lead and manage machine operators to maintain operational efficiency and quality, as agreed with the Production Manager
  • Oversee machine operators, ensure operatives follow processing order and complete all paperwork accurately
  • Manage workflow to optimize production efficiency
  • Assist with employee file notes when standards are not met, submitting them to HR
  • Cover for absent Team Leader Machine Operators when required
  • Coordinate consumable stock levels with the Production Administrator and Manager
  • Distribute technical and safety bulletins to machine operatives
  • Collate and input OEE data, using reports to improve efficiency
  • Be proficient in operating all supervised machinery and mentor operatives
  • Ensuere compliance withH SOP's, housekeeping, TPM schedules and safety standards
  • Conduct 'Before USe Checks' reporting faults to maintenance
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace, keeping floors and racking clear of waste
  • Communicate shift updates and machine issues to the Day Shift Team Leader and Production Manager
